TROPICAL DRY FORESTS MAGICS

ANIMALS ADAPTIONS

  • Due to the large space between trees, the habitat is mostly inhabited by big animals that can easily walk. also because there is a kind of seasonality between dry and wet season the reproductive cycle adapts to it in order to give birth in the easy living season which is the wet season. finally the species who are motile can migrate in the dry season into a place with more water availability

PLANT ADAPTIONS

  • In this extreme conditions plants should change part of their structure, trees develop thicker barks in order to protect their selves from fire in case their is one, thicker but smaller leaves to avoid water squander in transpiration due to the fact water is a problem in this kind of land; for this same reason of water lack, they have develop longer roots in order to reach deeper water sources. Also trees count with enemies like herbivores so they needed to develop some kind of thorns
